Ladner Creek Trestle

ladner creek trestle

The focus of this site is accessing the Ladner Creek trestle, but other side trips are worth doing as well.

The Ladner Creek trestle, east of Hope on Highway 5, is a worthwhile visit on your travels to British Columbia's interior. With declining freight traffic and high maintenance costs you can see why the Coquihalla subdivision of the Kettle Valley railway was abandoned.

Decades of forest growth hides the trestle from view (unless you know what you're looking for) as you cross the highway bridge at Ladner Creek.

To start your hike to the trestle, you need to find a place to park. Access is from the westbound lane of Highway 5 only. Pull off just before the highway bridge, far enough away that he rocks kicked up from highway traffic do not hit your car. If you are coming from Hope, use the first turn around after Ladner Creek area and double back to the gravel area just before the east approach to the bridge.
